OUR GATHERING

SUNDAYS, 5:01 PM // 1ST BAPTIST CHURCH, 159 N. BELLEFIELD AVE.

We invite all people, no matter where you are in your understanding of and beliefs about Jesus, to gather with us on Sunday. Our desire to create an atmosphere that allows people to learn about Jesus and connect with other people without an "Us vs. Them” attitude. We gather at 1st Baptist Church, right in the heart of Oakland, so we have a lot of college students, families, and professionals from colleges and neighborhoods throughout the City of Pittsburgh. We like to kick things off with some music, followed by a message from the Bible, and then a little more music. People often arrive 10-15 minutes early and hang around afterward to catch up with friends and meet new people.

WHAT TO EXPECT

CHILDCARE, WHAT TO WEAR, AND MORE

Childcare

We treasure caring for children by providing childcare, Bible lessons, and fun activities for babies and children, to the age of 10. Children of any age are also welcome in the service. If you have any questions regarding our kids' ministry, please do not hesitate to contact our ministry directors at kidsburgh.h2o@gmail.com.

Where and When We Meet

We are a newer church that was "planted" or started in the fall of 2012. We don't currently own our own building, but we are blessed to be able to gather in an absoluetly beautiful 100+ year old gothic catherdral that is owned by 1st Baptist Church. Because they hold their services in the morning, we gather on Sunday evening.

What to Wear

We’re pretty casual, so most people who come to h2o dress pretty casual. Feel free to wear jeans and a t-shirt, leave the piercings in, and show off the tattoos. If you're used to dressing up, do it. We don’t really care what you wear, just as long as you wear something!

The Message

The sermon, homily, lecture, talk, lesson, etc. There are a lot of names for the time in church where someone gets up and talks. At h2o, we call it the message, but if you call it something else, we're cool with that. During the message, we're going to teach from and talk about the Bible because we believe the Bible is the Word of God and our ultimate authority on issues of life and faith.

The Music

More coming soon!
